We use DisplayLink chips in all our USB 2.0 and 3.0 graphics and laptop docking products. These drivers may be installed with or without hardware present yet. Final configuration will then be completed automatically when hardware is plugged in.

Windows 8.1/8, Windows 7, and Vista

We recommend downloading current DisplayLink drivers for all version of Windows, as drivers are still being actively improved. The current DisplayLink drivers can be downloaded here:

Please note that it is perfectly normal to have your monitors briefly flash black (as if not connected) or white once or more during installation. A reboot may be required and is recommended to complete install.

Windows XP

If you are installing on a Windows XP system, please use:
DisplayLink Driver Version 7.6M2

Windows 10 (Technical Preview)

DisplayLink has Beta drivers available for those running Windows 10 Technical Preview. These drivers, as with Windows 10 itself, are still undergoing development. They will work well for most Windows 10 users, but there may be issues for some. (Please be aware that these drivers will not function on any OS other than Windows 10.)

Mac OS X

Currently, OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and 10.10 (Yosemite) can exhibit issues with multiple monitor setups. For more details on the situation with DisplayLink and OS X 10.9 and 10.10, please take a look at this blog post for additional information.

If you are a user that can stay on 10.8.5, DisplayLink’s current drivers will work well for HDMI/DVI/VGA up to 4 additional USB-attached monitors. If possible, we recommend staying on 10.8.5 until the 10.9/10.10 problems are solved by Apple and DisplayLink. On versions OS X beyond 10.8.5, performance of DisplayLink USB graphics adapters will potentially be unsatisfactory, and is therefor not recommended.

If you already have 10.9 or 10.10, the most recent DisplayLink driver (2.4 Beta 2, updated 6/3/15) should work best for most users:
